Ladies and Gentleman, I give you the first set of nails I have every painted on an individual other than myself!

I am especially proud of these, not because I think they are phenomenal per se, but because they were done on the whim of the recipient after I had ingested about 4 beers and 2 Jack & Gingers. Yes, my friends, these were done whilst I was drunk.

All that matters is she was incredibly pleased with them, and for that I am honored.

Summer Citrus
——————————————
This was a design idea I got while browsing through my roommates pile of magazines.
It was near the end of summer, and I wanted one last bright and fun design to close out August.
I’m a huge fan of the slanted split color nail. Super easy, with lots of options. The photo on the right was the first leg of the week. I grabbed Sun Kissed and Mellow Yellow (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear) for the split colors. I added a thin line of white dividing both colors just for an extra bit of oomph.
As the week wore on, and the inevitable tip wear began, I just wasn’t ready to let this one go. I grabbed some silver and black to add a few accents. Tip wear covered, and a whole new look with very little effort! Summer Citrus

Sweater Weather

———————————————-

Guys, I am not a winter person. I am not meant for the cold. I turn into a whiney brat when I’m outside in winter weather, so a phrase I would never ever use is “I’m so stoked December is here!”

But…..I’M SO STOKED DECEMBER IS HERE!

I bought these great stamping plates months ago from Winstonia, and I have literally been dying to use this fantastic Christmas sweater design! Honestly, how adorable is that shit? Now that the holiday season is upon us, I sat down with a big warm cup of Holiday Spice tea, and my nail tools to get into the spirit of the season.

Now, it’s time to go make some Hot Toddies and forget how cold it is outside.

All Of Time And Space.

————————————————————

As I mentioned in my Welcome post, I’m a huuuuge fan of Doctor Who.

I first heard of it from a guy I dated a few years ago. He told me it was a show about a guy who traveled through space and time saving the universe, and I remembered thinking “Well how can that NOT be interesting?”

We broke up a few months later, and I never did get to watch an episode so I forgot about it….until. Tumblr. Where the Whovians gather. I had a few friends in my feed posting about the show constantly, and there was a post ages back that was along the lines of “Things I am afraid of thanks to Doctor Who.” That post was the one that sealed my fate. I marathoned the shit out of it on Netflix….and then I did it again.

This design was a take on galaxy nails. Same technique, but I just sort of played around with a bunch of random colors on a rainy night and came up with this.

Welcome!

The internet is full of nail blogs, and yet here I am throwing another one into the mix. Why? Why not! Here’s a bit of an intro about me and why I’m here.

I used to be a strictly nude nail kinda gal, only painting my nails for special occasions or if my best friend (and fellow polish addict) would force me to (while watching bad reality TV, naturally.)

It wasn’t until I started seeing all these amazing tutorials all over the place that my interest was peeked. My first foray into the world of nail art was the always gorgeous galaxy nails (which as a Doctor Who fan I of course had to try), and when my shaky hands actually yielded decent results, I was shocked at how good it felt. That was it, I was hooked! I scoured the internet for more tutorials of designs I thought I could handle, and eventually the designs I was able to execute got better and more intricate.

Nail art has become a main form of stress relief for me, as well as a creative outlet. I realized a lot of my friends were always curious what I’d be doing next or asking to me teach them how to do a design. Strangers on the subway would strike up a conversation about my nails. I love discussing brands and colors, techniques and ideas.┬áThe design options are endless, and even though my shit is by no means professional, I love the feeling of a fresh design and hell sometimes I’d like to show it off!

So here it is, my little corner of the internet dedicated to nail art. Thanks for taking the time to take a look around. Let’s chat and be friends, yeah?

Editor’s note: Since this blog is brand spankin’ new, I’ll be posting a few oldies from my instagram collection just to fill this baby in while I work on cultivating some new posts and designs!
